WHAT IS EVERSLEY LITTLE VILLAGE?
The Eversley / Little Male’s Village will be a place for critical consciousness, healing, leadership development and belonging for Black male students in Winston-Salem / Forsyth County.
The village will offer our youth an opportunity to critically examine, explore, and analyze the unique experiences of African-descended people in order to better understand the past and present conditions of their communities so that they will have the tools needed to become agents of change in East Winston.
Our boys will engage in activities that will
strengthen their skills in:
LITERACY RESEARCH PRESENTATION
ENTREPRENEURIAL CRITICAL THINKING
COMMUNICATIONS STEAM
EMBEDDED MENTORSHIP
PROGRAM
As we continue to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic and the compounding consequences of student learning loss, mental health impact, sustained trauma and isolation, and heightened anxiety, our students and educators have returned to school buildings with a need for a more robust network of support to meet these challenges. There is a critical need for programs which are proven to be effective in providing youth and young adults with the skills, tools, and resources necessary to prevent youth disengagement and gang involvement.
SUPPORT OUR
CHILDREN.
The anchoring organizations of the ELV are determined to cultivate an environment that honors Black genius while prioritizing strategies rooted in the liberation of Black boys and their families.
In order to sustain our efforts and continue to expand our reach we are counting on community support.
